DAILY DOUBLE
Bet one horse to win in one race and one horse to win in the
race that immediately follows. This bet used to be offered only on the first two
races of the day at race tracks, then a "late" double was added by many,
using the last two races. Some tracks have multiple doubles, using some
other races or all other races on any racing day. The bet is usually a $2 minimum.
HOW TO READ THE CHARTS
Select the number of horses you want to bet in the first race in the
first half column. Then move to
the right and pinpoint the number of horses you want to bet in the second race in
the second half column. The total cost
of the bet is where the rows intersect. The betting unit used is $2.
For
example, let's say you want to play 1 horse in the first half and 3 horses in the
second half. Your total bet cost is $6.
OR: 2 horses in the first half, 6 in the second half. Total bet:
$24.
OR: 7 horses in the first half, 1 in the second half. Total bet:
$14.

SIMPLE DD FORMULA:
To get the total number of wagers, multiply the number of horses you want to
play in each race. Then, multiply that number by 2 to get the total cost of the
bet.
Example: 2 horses in the first half x 3 horses in
the second half = 6 bets. 6 x 2 = $12 total cost. |
